Match.com recently released the love geist report for 2010! Match.com brings one of these out each year and it talks about changing mindsets of love and relationships from data gathered online and offline.
This specific study was based on 150,000 people from the UK and Ireland.
Match.com is in a great position to bring this information to the public because of the huge number of users that are active on their site. The report is one big trend analysis of what people are both looking for in a relationship and what they care about.
WHATS IMPORTANT?

Above all it seems your genetics comes first! Protecting and being with family is the most important. Then comes your health and then LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Not money or fame or power but romantic love and relationships as THE 3RD most important thing in your life.
LOOKING FOR ROMANCE

No sure how to be romantic with women? According to match.com and match affinity here’s what to do.
Take your partner on a surprise weekend away with a candlelit dinner and a walk through a forest while you propose with flowers…
(Throw in some horse back riding and a massage or spa package) This should put it way over the top.
You have just performed the most romantic geasture known to the modern  man!
LOOKING FOR LOVE

By the looks of this there are plenty of single parents in the dating scene worried about their kids getting in the way…
Other than cynicism it’s mostly suitable partners or lack of that is on the minds of UK singles when heading into the search for love.
WHATS IMPORTANT?
It seems that high income and professional job’s are not so important to online daters and uk singles in general. Sexual compatibility and security is! This portrays and suggests a heightened sense of emotional maturity. But perhaps a high income can aid in the feeling of security?

INTERESTING UK DATING STATS

Northern england looks pretty grim with less romanticism, could have picked that though.
CONCLUSION:
Extremely positive outlook for the future: It seems the UK is becoming more emotionally intelligent. The highlight of the study was that daters seem to realize that you need to compromise and be realistic when looking for love. It would be interesting to the comparison between US and UK dating results. Being realistic does not mean lowering your standards but to simply be more understanding of other people and their circumstance.
